June and July have been 100% motorsport! Finally we can relax and give you an update on SDT BRAKES in motorsport. Until today we can't summarize these two hot months.
We started June with the 24h amazing drives at the Castelloli circuit, then we flew to VilaReal (Portugal) to the classic and spectacular street circuit to follow with our distributor and customers the Portuguese speed championship and international WTCR. We returned to Tarragona, triumphing two weekends in a row in 6h endurance races at the mythical Calafat circuit. Ending July with a test of the FIA International Lowland Championship at the BAJA ARAGON.
FIRST 24h AMAZING DRIVES IN BARCELONA
We started the month of June with the first 24 hours amateurs that took place in Barcelona, Catalonia. Our RR80 pads completed the overall podium and the first place in each category, managing to last in some cars more than 24 hours without changing their brake pads. Among the teams there was an all-female team, the Amazing Ladys, who managed to finish their 24h with a Citroen Saxo. The vehicle did a total of 35 hours with the same brake pads, quite an achievement.
A great success and let's hope that Amazing Drives repeats this great event.
WE LIVE THE WTCR FROM THE URBAN CIRCUIT OF VILAREAL
The visit to the street circuit of Vilareal with our distributor in Portugal allowed us to enjoy the WTCR where we could cross paths with great drivers like Tiago Monteiro and Tom Coronel.
In the Portuguese championship we could enjoy the triumph of the Honda S2000 of the Auto Minuto Racing team driven by Andre and Miguel, both enjoying our RR80 pads and getting to the top of the podium.
We could enjoy watching on the track of the mythical street circuit how they were looking for the limit of the braking of SDT Brakes in Honda Prelude, Clio mk2 RS and some other vehicles that enjoyed trying to squeeze the maximum braking of our SDT Racing RT66 and RR80.
EUROBIKE FRANKFURT
We were visiting the international bicycle fair EUROBIKE in Frankfurt for the new projects we are preparing. Observing first hand the novelties of the market.
ENDURANCE RACING LEAGUE
A different endurance modifying the route from the first 3 hours to the second 3 hours race, with a total of 6 hours.vWe could enjoy the circuit and the riders, especially those who trust us with the Racing RR80 for this kind of endurance races and some of them with their Bmw e36 or their Citroen Saxo reached the top of the podium.
CENCERRO RACE
We finish this fun and crazy race with the final flag. More than 30 vehicles took part in the race.
BAJA ARAGON 2022 FIA
We were able to follow this spectacular and tough race with the top riders of the DAKAR. Among all the off-road categories, T3, T4, sidebyside, we have the Yamaha Cup, protagonists of the Baja Aragon, top 5 in the World Cup T4 and leadership of the category in the Spanish Championship.
- Miquel Prat, co-driven for the occasion by Àlex Haro, was one of the revelations of the weekend, finishing with his Yamaha GYTR T4 in fifth place in the FIA light vehicles category and second among the participants of the Spanish T4 Cup, which he now leads alone.
- The Catalan rider, the fastest in Teruel among the Yamaha participants, received an invitation to compete in the European Super Final of the brand of the tuning forks, which will be held between the 27th and 29th of October on the occasion of the Baja Portalegre.
- Maximum equality in the Yamaha YXZ1000R Cup, which closes with the victory of Luis Sainero / Amir Kouch, ahead of Edesio and Juan José Caamaño, new leaders of the one-make cup.
- In the Spanish SSV Championship, Sainero and Kouch were second, while the Caamaño brothers finished third.
SDT BRAKES equips the GPR Sport team that made a great show with their two new Ford Ranger that are evolving in this 2022 race after race, we equipped several Can-Am buggies with the JJUAN and AP Racing clamps, the official T4 of Yamaha Spain and most of the Yamaha YXZ1000R Cup.
Now it's time to rest in August for a few days, because in September and October more races and fairs related to motor sports await us.
