Great end of year for the great R&D work of SDT BRAKES on the performance and racing brake pad compound developed specifically for rally raids... This great effort is translated with great victories this year in the CERTT in different categories getting the highest step at the end of the national championship.
The company of the tuning forks is confirmed as the reference among the side-by-sides of the Spanish Off-Road Rally Championship (CERTT) with the title of Prat in T4, the brands trophy and the runner-up of Edesio Caamaño in SSV. The Yamaha YXZ1000R Cup consolidates its status as the best platform for off-road competition after gathering 13 teams in a very competitive and closed campaign with Luis Sainero's sceptre. The Spanish Cup participants renew their dominance at the European Super Final in Portalegre with their third consecutive victory.
Yamaha España bids farewell to the 2022 season as one of the main players in the side-by-side category of the Spanish Off-Road Rally Championship (CERTT). The Japanese brand closes the year with an immaculate record: national T4 title for Miquel Prat at the wheel of the new GYTR T4; great success of participation and competitiveness of the YXZ1000R Cup, with 13 participants and three different winners in six qualifying races; the third consecutive victory in the Super Final of Portalegre; the brands trophy and the runner-up in SSV for Edesio Caamaño.
The 2022 campaign, which has proved to be a resounding success for Yamaha. This new year, which began in April in the form of a big meeting at Masía Pelarda for all the participants in the single-brand cup, was marked by the debut of the YXZ1000R model with GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) kit for the light series model category (T4). The leader of its development and pilot would be Miquel Prat, who back in 2017 became the first winner at the controls of a YXZ1000R. And the debut of this ambitious project could not have been better: full of podiums in the five races contested and victories in two of them, the Baja Extremadura and the TT Rally of Cuenca, as well as an outstanding performance in the events that coincided with international scoring.
SDT has been present from the first moment in such an important element of wear as the brake pads, somehow in each braking we felt that we contribute our bit with our great experience in the sector and our product development to this great project of Yamaha.
Driver Miquel Prat, new Spanish T4 champion: "The season has been excellent, and this is largely due to the excellent team we have formed. From mechanics to engineers, including the different co-drivers who have sat on my right, Sergio Lafuente, Álex Haro and Xavi Blanco. I am very grateful to all of them and also to Yamaha for giving us a car that we have been able to get 100% out of and compete at a very high level. In short, 2022 has been a dream for me".

With the echoes of the victories still echoing on the horizon, the brand begins preparations this winter for a 2023 season that is expected to be just as exciting as the one that has just come to an end.
