What are our S50 brake pads made of and why do they last longer?

Composition of compound S50 (High Performance)
We manufacture our S50 pads with a friction organic compound, optimized to provide a stable response from ambient temperature up to 550 °C. Unlike other more aggressive compounds (such as sintered or metallic), the S50 offers an ideal balance: it is not abrasive to the disc, but maintains a constant and predictable friction.
The value of the average coefficient of friction (μ) is around 0.44, enabling excellent braking capacity without needing to heat up. Additionally, its formula improves the initial bite, which is crucial for urban driving or unexpected situations. 90% of the S50 range references meet the GG coefficient of friction for more powerful braking both in cold and hot conditions.
Manufacturing cycle and quality control
Each S50 unit undergoes a pressing process and thermal curing in specific ovens that ensure the homogeneity of the compound. We apply a noise-reducing plate and radial chamfers on all our models, which improves daily comfort and eliminates vibrations.
The pads are tested on a bench and in real-world situations: sports cars, light commercial vehicles, and even extreme weather conditions. Only this way do we validate that the pad meets our standards.
